LRS was approached by our approved contractor to provide a waterproofing overcoat system and cost-saving alternative for these commercial units in the east end of Glasgow, circa 350m2 per unit.

The Problem
These 4 individual units consisted of a single skin metal sheet that was nearing the end of its durability and integrity due to flaking paint, corrosion and leaking roof lights.
The Challenge
This was an extremely challenging project due to the profile of the existing sheet and its mansard detail, as well as the difficulty in applying the Elasto-Kote System during the winter months.
The Solution
The contractor and our client agreed to postpone works until the on-site conditions were more suitable. Our Approved Contractor was then able to spray apply our Elasto-Kote system and complete the work within the time allocated.
The Benefits
The contractor and client were very pleased with the outcome, despite the initial difficulties at the start of the project due to inclement weather conditions. The clients were happy with the result and contractors are very keen to use Elasto-Kote again on their upcoming projects.
Elasto-Kote is a thermoplastic elastomeric waterproofing system designed specifically for application onto pitched roofs and ideal for metal, coated metal, concrete, and asbestos surfaces. Furthermore, with a built-in rust inhibitor and FM approved, Elasto-Kote offers exceptionally high performing waterproofing.
